no的用法
no作為形容詞性質(zhì)時，在句中作定語，表示否定，譯為沒有、不是，可修飾單數(shù)、復(fù)數(shù)可數(shù)名詞和不可數(shù)名詞。
1.用于there is(are)，have，have got之后，等于not any。如：
(1)There a搜索re no clouds in the sky.天上沒有云。
(2)He has no dignity.He is always behaving foolishly.他沒有尊嚴(yán)，經(jīng)常表現(xiàn)愚蠢。
(3)I've got no home.我沒有家。
2.用于連系動詞之后，等于not a，但語氣很強。如：
(4)The girl was no beauty.這姑娘才不漂亮哩。
(5)He is no friend of mine.他才不是我的朋友哩。
(6)Between you and me，it's no bad thing.就你我知道，這并不是件壞事。
3.用于其它動詞之后。如：
(7)The boat made no headway against the tide.這條船在逆潮中行進不了了。
(8)He could expect no sympathy from Beth.他不指望能得到貝斯的同情。
(9)I took no part in these negotiations.我沒有參加這些談判。
4.用于修飾其它句子成分。如：
(10)No boy at the school had ever seen the sea.學(xué)校里沒有一個孩子曾見過大海。
(11)I am in no mood for jokes.他沒有情緒開玩笑。
5.用于下列省略結(jié)構(gòu)、固定結(jié)構(gòu)或用于警告、命令等標(biāo)識。如：
(12)No admittance except on business.非公莫入。
(13)No thoroughfare.此路不通。
(14)No pains，no gains.不勞則無獲。
(15)No smoking!不許吸煙。
(16)No parking!禁止停車。
6.用于表示程度，=no+any，用作狀語，修飾形容詞原級、比較級和副詞比較級。如：
(17)But this is no unimportant question，my dear Mum.不過這可不是個無足輕重的問題，我親愛的媽媽。
(18)She was no older than Li Yan.她不比李巖年紀(jì)大。
(19)He went no further.他不再往前走了。
7.用于固定習(xí)語。如：
(20)Men are no longer at the mercy of nature.人類已不再任憑大自然擺布了。
(21)There's no such thing as ghosts.沒有鬼這樣的東西。
no與not的用法
這兩個詞在詞義和使用場合上都有所不同。
No可以作副詞，也可以作名詞和形容詞;not只能用作副詞?，F(xiàn)將它們各種用法分述如下，以便比較：
作副詞時，no有下列兩種用法：
(一)作為yes的反義詞，用在回答問題的場合，表示“不”的意思。例：
No，I won't go to the casino. 不，我不去賭場。
(二)用在比較級之前，表示“并不”之意。例：
The weather today is no better than it was yesterday. 今天的天氣并不比昨天好。
用作形容詞時，no表示not any的意味。例：
There is no(=not any)time to lose.
時不可失。
注：當(dāng)no用作形容詞時，可直接放在名詞之前，如果名詞的前面有a、any、much、many、enough等詞，就要改用not，不用no，因為not是副詞，只有副詞才有資格修飾a、any、much、many、enough等詞。因此，我們說：
I have no money. =I have not any money.= I do not have any
money
注：no +u(不可數(shù)名詞)=not +any +u
再如：There is no meat in the fridge =There is not nay meat in the fridge.
He has no brother =He does not have a brother.
注：no+可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)= not┅a +可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)
He has no brothers=He does not have any brothers.
注： No +可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)=not…any +可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù)
Not可用于
(一)修飾動詞：
I do not know any of them.
這些人我一個都不認(rèn)識。
(二)修飾形容詞：
It's not cold today.
今天天氣不冷。
