　　Little Robert asked his mother for two cents."What did you do with the money I gave you yesterday?"

　　"I gave it to a poor old lady," he answered.

　　"You are a good boy," said the mother proudly."Here are two cents more. But why are you sointerested in the old lady?"

　　"She is the one who sells the candy."

　　cent [sɛnt]：美分

　　proud [praʊd]：驕傲的

　　interest ['ɪntrəst]：興趣，利息

　　candy [ˈkændɪ]：糖果

　　小羅伯特昨天向媽媽要了兩分錢，媽媽問他：“昨天我給你的錢花哪里去了?”

　　“我把錢給了一位可憐的老太太。”他回答。

　　“你真是個好孩子!”媽媽自豪地說，“再給你兩分錢，但是你為什么那么在意那位老太太呢?”

　　“因為她賣給我糖果吃。”小羅伯特說。
