　　一般情況下，since短語和since從句表示時間時，通常句子(或主句)謂語動詞用完成時。但是，在以下情況下，since短語與since從句表示時間時，句子(或主句)謂語動詞可以不用完成時：

　　(1)句子(或主句)謂主動詞與情態(tài)動詞連用時，不用完成時。比如：

　　Since the doctor operated on his throat, the boy can speak clearly.

　　自從醫(yī)生給這男孩做過喉部手術(shù)后，他就能清楚地講話了。

　　He can only stay in bed since he fell ill.

　　他自從生病后，就一直臥床不起了。

　　(2)當since引出的狀語修飾一個后置定語從句時，句子(或主語)不用完成時。比如：

　　People were evacuated from the territories occupied (=which had been occupied) since the beginning of the war.

　　人們被迫撤出了戰(zhàn)爭開始以來就被占領(lǐng)的領(lǐng)土。

　　The couple had no photo of themselves taken (=which had been taken) since they got married.

　　那對夫妻自從結(jié)婚后就沒照過相。

　　(3)句子(或主句)謂語是be動詞，并且表示時間概念時，句子(或主句)謂語動詞用一般現(xiàn)在時比用現(xiàn)在完成時普遍。比如：

　　It is (has been) three years since he joined the army.

　　他參軍已經(jīng)3年了。

　　It is (has been) a long time since we parted.

　　我們已分別久了。

　　(4)有時句子(或主句)謂語動詞be也可用過去式，此時since從句的謂語動詞常用過去完成時。比如：

　　It was two years since we had parted.

　　我們分手有2年了。

　　It was ages since I had had my last meat.

　　我前一頓飯已經(jīng)吃過好長時間了。

　　(5)當所述是事實，或一種長期不變的習慣時，句子(或主句)謂語動詞常用一般現(xiàn)在時。比如：

　　Ever sincehe recovered, he goes for an outing every other morning.

　　自從他康復后，每隔一天早晨他都要到郊外遠足一次。

　　My mother feels a lot better since she took the medicine.

　　自從我母親服過那藥后，她感覺好多了。
