　　一、表示比較，意為“象……一樣，正如，如同”

　　She’s very tall, as is her mother. 她個(gè)子很高，和她母親一樣。

　　二、表示方式、程度、情況。意即“照……方式、如同、象”

　　They did as I had asked. 他們是按照我的要求做的。

　　三、表示時(shí)間，意為“當(dāng)……時(shí)候”，“一邊……一邊”“隨著……”

　　As he grow older he gained in confidence. 隨著年齡的增長(zhǎng)他的信心增強(qiáng)了。

　　四、表示原因，意為“因?yàn)?，由?rdquo;

　　As you were out, I left a message. 你不在，所以我留下了一張字條。

　　五、表示讓步，意為“盡管;雖然;即使”(表語(yǔ)一般放在本從句之首;如有可數(shù)名詞單數(shù)，前面也不要冠詞)

　　Child as he is ,he can tell black from white. 盡管他是個(gè)孩子，但他能夠分辨黑白。

　　Happy as they were, there was something missing. 盡管他們很快樂(lè)，但總?cè)鄙冱c(diǎn)什么。

　　六、引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句

　　1)as引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句，常指主句所表達(dá)的整個(gè)事情，可置句首、句中、句末，常見(jiàn) as we all know,as I see it 照我看來(lái)，as it appears to me 依我看來(lái)。

　　As we all know, oceans cover more than 70 percent of the earth.

　　正如我們所知道的，海洋占地球面積70%以上。

　　2)as引導(dǎo)限制性定語(yǔ)從句

　　From every corner of the island little people came to see the "Man Mountain~as they called Gulliver. 小人們從海島的各個(gè)角落來(lái)看他們叫做‘人山’的格利佛。

　　3)as與 such, so, the same 連用，此時(shí)先行詞是一個(gè)具體的名詞，as在從句中可作主語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)或表語(yǔ)。

　　The book is written in such easy English as beginners can understand. 這本書(shū)是用初學(xué)者也能讀懂的淺易英文寫(xiě)的。

　　She studies in the same department as I do. 他和我在同一個(gè)系統(tǒng)學(xué)習(xí)。

　　Here is so difficult a problem as none of us can solve.
