      為什么中國(guó)人的英語口語很難提高

      時(shí)間: 曾揚(yáng)1167 分享

        雖然英語學(xué)習(xí)熱已經(jīng)深入到很多領(lǐng)域,但國(guó)人的英語水平卻不見有多高,很多學(xué)生的英語成績(jī)很優(yōu)秀,但口語能力卻往往上不去,原因出現(xiàn)在哪里?

This is an interesting question. I will answer from my experience. Hope this helps.

        這是一個(gè)很有趣的問題。我來用自己的親身經(jīng)歷回答吧。希望能幫到大家。

I grew up in China and have received English education since I was 6 years old. Not only was I taught English in school for 12 years but also I was taking English classes even on weekends since I was 8 years old. I consider myself as a very good English speaker.

        我是在中國(guó)長(zhǎng)大的,從6歲開始就接受英語教育。我不光在學(xué)校學(xué)了12年英語,而且從8歲開始還要在周末上英語課。我覺得我的英語還是講得不錯(cuò)的。

The problem with English education in China is that almost everything taught in school is so exam-oriented.

        中國(guó)英語教育的問題就是:學(xué)校里教的一切幾乎都是應(yīng)試的。

The textbook is very out-dated. Teachers are more focused on what will be tested in the exam instead of what will actually be used in real life.

        教材非常過時(shí)。老師們更關(guān)心考試會(huì)考什么,而不是真實(shí)生活中會(huì)用什么。

Speaking is definitely not included as part of the curriculum. The speaking test is optional in Gaokao at least in my province, which is pretty much a joke (You literally read a random English passage while being judged by someone who probably speaks worse English than you).

        口語能力顯然并不是教學(xué)大綱的一部分。高考里的口語考試也不是必須項(xiàng),至少在我的省份不是。而且這個(gè)考試就跟鬧著玩一樣(你完全就是隨便讀一個(gè)英文段落,而考官的英語口語可能還不如你)。

I have had native English teachers in primary school and high school but they only give 1 lesson per week and the content turned out to be mostly playing with the students, watching movies.

        我的小學(xué)和高中時(shí)期都有外教上課,但是他們每周只上一節(jié)課,而且教學(xué)內(nèi)容基本就是和學(xué)生一起玩,比如看電影。

My foreign English teacher in high school turned out to be a very professional educator who actually had a degree in English literature in the US. I am extremely thankful that I have met my teacher and we also became friends.

        我高中時(shí)期的外教倒是挺專業(yè),他在美國(guó)是拿了英語文學(xué)學(xué)位的。我非常慶幸能碰到這樣一個(gè)老師并和他成為了朋友。

I happened to start getting interested in American TV shows starting from Friends etc.

        那時(shí)候我也恰好喜歡上了看美劇,一開始看的是《老友記》這些。

I literally repeated every sentence after the actors finished their lines. So yes, I have watched Friends for twice just for learning English.

        當(dāng)時(shí)劇里的角色每說完一句話我都要跟著重復(fù)一遍。所以,沒錯(cuò),我為了學(xué)英語把《老友記》刷了兩遍。

Being friends with a native speaker, the practice I got from TV shows turned out to be long-term beneficial. I am frequently mistaken as someone from the US when I travel abroad.

        后來我慢慢意識(shí)到:和以英語為母語的人交朋友,以及跟著美劇練習(xí)英語都是有長(zhǎng)遠(yuǎn)的好處的。我現(xiàn)在出國(guó)旅游的時(shí)候經(jīng)常被誤認(rèn)成美國(guó)人。

To conclude, the school system was extremely ineffective in terms of actual communication.

        總結(jié)來說,國(guó)內(nèi)的學(xué)校體系在培養(yǎng)實(shí)際交流能力這方面是極其低效的。

Most students end up being good at writing and reading but not listening and speaking, which is more essential to communications.

        很多學(xué)生的讀寫能力都不錯(cuò),但聽說能力卻很差,而后兩者對(duì)于交流來說才更重要。

Also to note that, lack of English speaking environment also played a factor.

        還有一點(diǎn)要指出的就是,缺乏講英語的環(huán)境也是個(gè)問題。

However, I do appreciate the fact that I was taught with strong grammatical fundamentals that some native English speakers are weak at, which helped so much in my later English studies.
